Lawyer Marinetti is a ruthless and bitter woman who has denounced almost the entire neighborhood. Her life changes the day Omar, a refugee boy, falls from a branch of his walnut tree.

The boy transforms his life completely and in order to keep him, she states that he is a nut and that, according to an ancient law, all the fruits that fall in her garden belong to him. The judge and the prosecutor, incredulous, listen to the witnesses. Meanwhile, Omar remembers how he had to flee from a country at war and how he lost his parents at sea, hoping to have a chance in life.
