CLASSIC NIGHTS: ALBA CHANTAR AND ARSIS QUARTET


Alba Chantar was born in Ronda in 1991. She later moved to Malaga where she began to study singing under the tutelage of Francisco Heredia. In 2016 she finished her musical studies in Singing at the Superior Conservatory of Malaga. She has received classes from Cecilia Gallego, Mª Ángeles Castro, Gerardo López, Carlos Aransay, David Mason, Kenedi Moretti and Carlos Álvarez among others.


He has won the prize in the 5th exhibition of young performers of early music in Malaga, honorable mentions in the II and III Contest of Lied and Concert Song 'Fidela Campiña', award for the best performer who projects youthful values ??MarbellaCrea 2010, first Intercentros Melómano Regional Phase Award as well as the first prize in the XXIII MalagaCrea Young Performers Show 2012 together with the pianist Antonio Manzano. In the same year she receives the Educational Excellence Award. In 2016 she obtained the second prize in the 'Pedro Bote' Young Performers Contest. This year she won the 'Best Zarzuela Performer Award' at the XXXV International Singing Contest City of Logroño.
She was selected by the World Youth Choir to be part of it and participate in the 2009 and 2010 world tour.


He has worked with the Provincial Symphony Orchestra of Malaga, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the same city, the Chamber Orchestra of the University of Malaga, Ensemble Elegance, Promusica Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Córdoba, as well as with the University of Huelva Orchestra, among others. others and has been directed by Manuel Hernández-Silva, Arturo Díez Boscovich, Lorenzo Ramos, Ragnan Ragmusen, Josep Vila I Casañas and Edmon Colomer, among others.


Among the outstanding roles in her repertoire are: Serpina (La serva padrona), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Norina (Don Pasquale), Amina (La Sonnambula), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) , Gilda (Rigoletto), among others. In the field of oratorio it has Stabat Mater (G. B. Pergolesi), El Mesías (G. F. Haendel), Magnificat (J. S. Bach), Gloria (A. Vivaldi) and Carmina Burana (C. Orff), as well as the Coronation Mass, Requiem , Davide Penitente and Mass in C minor by W. A. ??Mozart.


The Arsis Quartet was born from the initiative of guitarist and professor Carlos R. Vivar. It arises from a need and concern to delve into Chamber Music (he has participated in Guitar, Flute and Guitar duos and currently directs a Plectrum Orchestra and Guitar Orchestra) to expand the sound and timbre possibilities and the technical and artistic capacities that gives us such a 'chameleon' and beautiful instrument as the guitar.
