LEKHA SINGH. WOMEN CARRY THE WORLD

Millions of women carry millions of pounds, across millions of miles on this planet. On their heads, backs, shoulders or arms, for centuries, they have carried children, transported firewood, water, food or mountains of cotton. Each of them carry a part of the world. Through this exhibition, revealing the spectacular burdens that weigh on them, photographer Lekha Singh pays tribute to these women.
Lekha Singh is an American visual artist. Thanks to her international reputation, she has had the opportunity to travel all over the world, and to draw artistic inspiration from her travels. This spectacular exhibition, is presemnt for the first time in Spain, made up of almost fifty photographs with a great social and emotional charge that bring us closer to the harsh living conditions that women from different parts of the world suffer daily.
