The councillor for Festivals, Ana Scherman, has presented the XVI Edition of the Drag-Queen's Gala that will be on Friday, 5 February at 21.30 in Plaza de la Mezquita. This will be considered the start of Benalmádena Carnival 2016. In this presentation, it has also participated the presenter and act organizer Boxo, and the BeFree representative, Marcos Rodríguez.

'As a novelty, we will count with the support of BeFree, one of the main organizations specialized in LGTB tourism in Spain, which will promote the event all over the country with an imminent presentation in FITUR', underlined the councillor for Festivals, Ana Scherman.

Moreover, Boxo has mention that this show is the second main event of this type in Spain, after the Canary Islands' show. He has also mention Makoke will be the co-presenter of the gala.
'One novelty of this edition is the Big Carnival Parade that will be the 13 February, which will start at 16.00 in Benalmádena Pueblo and at 19.00 in Arroyo de la Miel. It was a decision taken in order that our carnival gain fame, impact and participation', has pointed out the councillor.

Scherman has also added the final and semifinal of the groups competitions 'will be from the 8th to the 12th of February in the area where it had never had to go: our Casa de la Cultura.'
