The councillor for Citizen Participation, Elena Galán, has visited plaza de la Tribuna to announce that this public area is going to get back its nickname: El Corralón, which is how the neighbours has always known this place.
'It is an historic recognition of the area residents, as well as a new nomenclature which identifies the popular history of this place', has declared the councillor Elena Galán.
Thus, the square is going to have a new nickname and it is going to be known as plaza de La Tribuna (El Corralón). The new denomination has already been approved by the Governing Board and the operational services will place a plaque with the new nickname on the next days.
The president of the Vecinos del Bajondillo Association, Bartolomé Márquez, attend the visiting with the councillor. He explained the origin of this nickname: 'There were yards in this square in the past where the neighbours kept their goats'.
