For the first time in history, Benalmádena hosted the 17th of May the Norwegian National day, which brought more than five hundred Norwegian residents from our town and the vicinity together in a range of acts which began with a mass in the Inmaculada Concepción church in Arroyo de la Miel and concluded in the afternoon in the Norwegian school of Benalmádena.
The Benalmádena Mayor, Víctor Navas, who chaired the commemorative acts with the Foreign Residents councilor, Ana Scherman, and the Culture and Education councilor, Elena Galán, described this event as “excellent for celebrating the coexistence in peace of the different cultures” and underlined the interculturality of our town, which hosts residents of 123 different nationalities.
