National Day of the Philippines was celebrated on Sunday 23rd of June at the Innova Park in Arroyo de la Miel. The event took place from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and was attended by the Philippine Consul in Malaga, Rosa Esther Agüera de Ales, and representatives of different associations from the Costa del Sol, such as FIMA, LOCANO, KASAMA, FISPA or AFIPROMA.

The Costa del Sol has the third largest Philippine community in Spain, with more than 5000 people throughout the region. In Benalmádena live around a hundred people of this nationality.
