The beaches and Puerto Marina will maintain, for another year, all of their Blue Flags, once ADEAC, (short for Association for Environmental and Consumer Education), has made public the awarding of these prizes for the environmental sustainability of the coastline.
6 years waving the Blue Flag on the Benalmadena beaches from Santa Ana to Fuente de la Salud and the Marina.
The Councillor for Tourism, Port and Beaches, Encarnación Cortés, celebrated the awarding of this recognition for the work done in terms of environmental sustainability of the coastline, and stressed the importance for the municipality of maintaining these quality awards: We cannot aspire to be a benchmark for tourism in Spain without taking care of our beaches, which are one of the great tourist assets of our municipality,' said the councillor, who recalled that the coastline holds the distinction from Santa Ana to Fuente de la Salud and the Marina.
Cortés also informed that Benalmádena and its beaches have also received recognition in terms of inclusive beaches.
For its part, the management of the Port of Benalmádena has also valued the renewal of the port's Blue Flag very positively. According to Manuel J. Jiménez, manager of the Port, this recognition 'is an incentive to continue working on the commitment to sustainability and the quality of the destination which has been made in recent years'.
