One of the most popular festivities in summer is the Día de la Virgen del Carmen on July 16, which is the Patron Saint of Sailors.
Starting the procession in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, she will be transported by the believers to the sea where the virgin will be mounted in a small boat iniciating a procession on the sea. Dozens of boats, barges and launches will accompanying her.
Fireworks will announce the end of the maritime procession and the virgin is guarded by the Maritime Captaincy until the following year.
Throughout the procession, you will find music, orchestras, performances by singers and dancers, as well as attractions for children and teenagers in the marina.
