The Councillor for Mobility, Javier Marín, has communicated several alterations that will occur from Wednesday, July 20, in the access to Benalmádena from the kilometer point 222 (road A-7), as a result of the progress of the works of expansion and improvement of the Avenida del Cosmos.
'From the Delegation of Roads and Works inform us of these temporary detours as a result of the works, which will be changing throughout the week, and that in general will occur in different sections,' said the Councillor.
The detours will take place in three different sections, not simultaneously, but in staggered phases:
A) It will proceed to make the cut, alternatively and always leaving way to the circulation, a small section near the traffic circle of the gas station of the two lanes of entry coming down from the access to Benalmádena of KM.222, deriving traffic by the direct access road to the Avendia del Cosmos. In order to carry out this phase of the works, which include trench opening, pipe installation and backfilling, the detour will be extended for two working days.
During these two days, to access the Avenida de Voluntarios de Protección Civil from KM 222, drivers will have to change direction down to the traffic circle at the Bulevar de las Ideas sculpture complex on Avenida del Cosmos.
B) For three days, a short section of the exit lanes to the AP-7 from the gas station traffic circle will be cut, also in an alternative way and always allowing traffic to pass, and the exit will be allowed on the two downhill lanes and entrance to Arroyo de la Miel from KM.222.
C) The direct access to Malaga by the AP-7 from the Avenida de Voluntarios de Protección Civil will be closed to traffic, not affecting the entry and exit lanes to the traffic circle. This cut will last for two working days.
The Councillor has apologized for the inconvenience caused by these traffic alterations, and has asked for 'patience to drivers, and to remain attentive to the signage and information panels that will indicate the successive changes in the circulation'.
