The Department of Foreign Residents of the Benalmádena City Council, led by Councilor Presi Aguilera, has increased the information service, specifically, providing service in the Benalmádena Pueblo City Council on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in order to respond to the needs of resident foreigners and residential tourists from the municipality.
Benalmádena has roughly 75,000 registered residents, nearly 35% of whom are foreigners of 142 different nationalities, the majority of them are British, Scandinavian, and French.
The department assists and advises foreigners, easing their transition to their new environment and introducing them to our culture. It should be emphasised that it also serves as a link between the rest of the municipal services, as well as the general public administration and other institutions and groups.
The department is located in El Bil Bil Castle in Benalmádena Costa and has two employees who speak six languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Russian, and Polish, offering their service from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. hours.
This service is available again at the Benalmádena City Council, according to the department. This change 'has been highly demanded by Benalmádena's foreign population to avoid displacement to the Coast,' they emphasise
